EMMA LIVINGSTON

NOA

2005 – 2007

The Noa series is concerned with the stony-inhospitable environment in northwestern Argentina. In this series, Livingston flattens the landscape, eradicating the horizon line and, with a non-dramatic use of light, draws attention to the mineral-rich material of the ground. Whilst the landscapes, at first, seem flat and monochromatic, they portray breathtaking gradients of color.
