We are delighted to now be working with Jeanette May, who recently joined the gallery roster.

Jeanette May uses a critical, sometimes playful, approach to investigate representation itself, with her early training as a painter  evident in her carefully arranged compositions and rich color palette.

She holds an MFA in Photography from CalArts and a BFA in Painting from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. The artist has received a number of awards and grants, including from the NEA and the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts among others.

Jeanette May lives and works in Brooklyn.

NEW REPRESENTATION: DIANE MEYER

We are delighted to announce, that Diane Meyer has joined the Klompching Gallery.

Meyer's artistic practice consists of photographs, that have been partially obscured, with the use of cross-stitch embroidery, hand-sewn directly into the photograph by the artist.

Diane Meyer is interested in the disjunct, between actual experience and photographic representation, and photography’s ability to supplant memory. By borrowing the visual language of digital imaging with an analog process, a connection is made between forgetting and digital file corruption.

Her two main bodies of work are Berlin and Time Spent That Might Otherwise Be Forgotten.
