Ken Rosenthal has 7 photographs from The Forest series, curated into an exhibition at the New Mexico Museum of Art, entitled Shots In The Dark.

Curated by the museum’s Curator of Photography, Kate Ware, the exhibition brings together four photographers who have photographed the landscape at night.

The exhibition text says of Ken Rosenthal, “… the artist photographed at night in the Selkirk Mountains in northeast Washington, where he has spent nearly every summer since childhood. In these dark and densely layered compositions, the forest provides a visual vocabulary for the expression of internal psychological states, including “thoughts on mortality, discovery, loss, and renewal,” the artist writes. “It’s the essence of the image that I want the viewer to be able to relate to, rather than the specifics.”

The exhibition is on view December 15, 2018 – March 31, 2019. A reception for the exhibition will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 5:00pm.
