The Royal Photographic Society in the UK, has spearheaded a campaign to celebrate women in photography. During the course of 2018—the centenary year of women’s suffrage in the United Kingdom—the RPS has sought nominations for its ultimate selection of 100 Heroines.
The selected heroines will be part of a landmark exhibition, and receive a specially minted medal—the Margaret F. Harker Medal—Harker being the Society’s first female President and the UK’s first female Professor of Photography.
From 1,300 nominations, we are delighted to share that gallery artist, Helen Sear, has been named as one of the 100 Heroines.
