Jim Naughten (b. 1969) was awarded a painting scholarship to Lancing College and later studied photography at the Arts Institute of Bournemouth. Naughten's work has been exhibited internationally and he is the recipient of several awards, including a commendation from The National Portrait Gallery's Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize.

To date, Naughten's artworks have been published into three monographs, Re-enactors, HotShoe Books, 2009; Conflict and Costume: The Herero Tribe of Namibia, Merrell, 2013; and Animal Kingdom: Stereoscopic Images of Natural History, Prestel, 2016. Artworks by Naughten have been acquired by the collections of The Imperial War Museum and several private and public collections in the US, UK and Europe.
