JO ANN CHAUS — CONVERSATIONS WITH MYSELF
These images, a selection from a larger body of work, represent the sense of self I've been exploring and the the bridge I've been constructing between the past and the present, personally and collectively, as I've searched to understand my current state of existence as influenced by my family, heritage, society, personal desires and motivations, challenges, hurdles and relationships I recognize and value, as I've accessed many deep, authentic, raw places buried within.

Photography is the vessel through which I navigate the world on a daily basis, connecting with and arrested by the the light and darkness and beauty of nature as it intersects with the life that we live as humans with all the complexities, relationships, expectations, disappointments, surprises, joy, desires, reaching to stretch myself, carrying the past into the present as formative influences of solace and connectivity.
