ODETTE ENGLAND is an Australian living and working in Rhode Island. England holds a BA (distinction) in Painting and Drawing (University of South Australia), an MA in Communication Studies (University of South Australia) and a Higher National Certificate in Photography (City of Westminster College, London). She is an emerging artist who has exhibited widely including at the Three White Walls Gallery (Birmingham, UK), The Space (Brighton, UK), Durham Art Gallery (Durham, UK) Lennox Contemporary (Toronto, Canada) The Bargehouse (London, UK), Joyce Gordon Gallery (Oakland, CA) and the Newspace Center for Photography (Portland, OR) amongst others. In 2011 she was the winner of the Hotshoe Photofusion Award (UK), was a finalist for the Pepinieres Europeennes pour jeunes artistes map programme (France), the con-ceit Corangamarah Australian Art Prize (Australia) and the Woods Arts Award (UK). Recently she was awarded a Visiting Fellowship on the ILIRI Research Resident Program at Fowler's Gap (Australia). England has also been an artist-in-residence at the Association of Icelandic Visual Artists (Iceland), Hungarian Multicutural Center (Hungary) and the Can Serrat International Artist Center (Spain).
